Washington State Fellows' Network

Empowering educators for lasting impact.

About the Fellows Program

OSPIThe Fellows’ Network is a group of instructional leaders convened by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction Washington State Fellows’ Network and the Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) Network. Our mission is to support district and community implementation of state learning standards in Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, and Early Learning Guidelines. Fellows meet four times per year and are committed to content learning, instructional leadership, and equity for every student in every learning environment.

Benefits for Teachers

Professional learning opportunities

The Fellows Program offers content-specific professional learning (PL) and connections with experts in content, pedagogy, and leadership. The Fellows program is here to meet your needs! Unlike typical one-off PL sessions, our program offers a tailored experience over three years within a supportive cohort model. Our regional coordinators bring extensive experience to ensure your learning is relevant and impactful for your region.

Connections

The Fellows Program connects you with a regional and statewide network of ambitious educators, enhancing your leadership and teaching skills to make a greater impact on your students.

Leadership opportunities

The Fellows Program creates clear pathways for leadership opportunities in your building or district, opening doors to new opportunities and advancing your career in education.

Equitable content areas

Educators can apply to be a Math, Literacy, Science, or Early Learning Fellow. Each content area meets four times a year to engage in shared learning. Common to all four areas is a commitment to build content learning and instructional leadership, and a focus on equity.

Learning standards

As a Fellow, you’ll gain knowledge and experience to help support the roll out of the revised learning standards in your building and district.

Apply Now!

Applications are due October 15, 2024.
Don’t miss this chance to grow, connect, and lead with the Fellows Program! Visit our Fellows Page at OSPI for detailed information and application forms.

Benefits for Administrators

The Fellows Program empowers teacher leaders to implement strategies that bring new knowledge back to their school or district, creating lasting improvements.

Fellows will work directly with ESD Content Coordinators and OSPI Content Specialists to learn about the revised Washington State Learning Standards. Fellows will gain the expertise to help support professional learning for educators during the standards rollout.

Participation is free. Schools with access to School Improvement funds can use these funds to cover substitute costs, making participation easy and aligning with your SIP goals and plans.

Support your teachers in becoming Fellows and watch them transform their growth into tangible, positive changes for your entire school community.
