Educational Technology Network

This initiative expands educational technology (EdTech) services to promote digital equity and support across the state.

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the nine Educational Service Districts (ESDs), unified as the Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD or ESD Network) were chartered in House Bill 1365 to support increased educational technology (EdTech) services described in the bill as digital equity and support across the state.

Access, Innovation, and Collaboration

Washington’s 9 ESDs, working with OSPI as the AESD Network, help schools and districts increase student access to technology to enhance learning, expand professional learning programs, offer technical assistance, and strengthen the ability to support digital navigation services for students and their families — especially those in underserved populations.

We envision a K–12 system that empowers innovation and collaboration within educational settings by developing and enhancing digital equity, access, and inclusion to meet all students’ needs, emphasizing underserved students, families, and communities.

Our Goals

Accelerate student access to learning devices and related goods and services.

Expand professional learning programs and technical assistance on using technology to support student learning.

Build the capacity of schools and districts to support digital navigation services for students and their families, especially for our underserved populations.

What We’re Doing

Our regional coordinators make data-informed, inclusive decisions to accelerate student access to learning devices and related goods and services. They are also expanding professional learning programs and technical assistance on using technology to support student learning and building the capacity of schools and districts to support digital navigation services for students and their families, especially for underserved populations.
