National Partnerships
AESD and Washington ESDs are members of AESA, a national association that provides support to educational service agencies across the country.
Washington’s nine ESD superintendents are members of AASA, the national school superintendents’ association, supporting district leaders across their regions.
*OSPI and the AESD: A Unique Partnership
OSPI the nine ESDs are committed to maintaining a statewide system for coordination, communication, and alignment of initiatives and in recognition of the unique statutory relationship (RCW 28A.310.010) between OSPI, the ESDs, and with AESD serving a coordinating role.
One example of this commitment is the annual process of establishing initiative agreements among OSPI divisions and ESDs for statewide and regional work. Through this structure, the AESD Network serves as the state’s primary system for coordinating and delivering education programs regionally. This commitment reflects a shared belief: maintaining a strong partnership is essential to providing equitable opportunities that benefit students, educators, and school leaders across Washington.
