This year marks 50 years of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 🎉 Fifty years ago, only 1 in 5 children with disabilities attended U.S. schools. Today, more than 8 million students with disabilities receive services designed to meet their needs.

In Washington, ESDs help make IDEA's promise real by providing specialized staff and services, pooling resources, and promoting inclusive practices that help students with disabilities learn in their home communities. Students graduate at higher rates, find better jobs, and attend their neighborhood schools.

School Nurse Corps brings healthcare providers to small districts across Washington 🩺 These nurses often serve as students' only medical support. When students access health services, they stay healthy and ready to learn!
